Welcome

My name is Niambi (she/her) and I want to be your doula. I began my doula career after giving birth to my daughter in 2022. When I learned that the key to a positive birth experience is feeling safe and supported, I wanted to provide the same to families in Colorado Springs. I’d be honored to be a part of your journey.

Choosing Your Doula Is An Important Decision…

My Mission

I am passionate about maternal health, especially the maternal health of Black womxn, People of Color, and those who are LGBTQIA+. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Therapist, I understand the importance of mental health and emotional wellness for expecting families. As a mom of two who was blessed to have wonderful birthing experiences, I became even more passionate about making sure ALL pregnant people have access to support during this incredible life event. Contact me to schedule a free consultation (in person or via Zoom) to talk more about how I can support you!

What is a Doula?

A trained, experienced labor companion who provides the birthing person and their partner continuous emotional support, physical comfort, and assistance in obtaining information before, during, and just after childbirth.

About Birth and Bloom Doula Services, LLC

About Me

I’m Niambi! I’m a military spouse, dog mom, and mama of two- a beautifully wild little girl and a sweet, curious little boy. I delivered both my babies at home with a birth team that included a doula. I understand firsthand the importance of support during labor and delivery and want to provide the same for your family! I love boba tea and coffee, painting, anything related to Halloween and Christmas, and going to the gym! When I’m not chasing my babies around, you can find me reading by the fire or at a local crystal shop. My husband and I have been married for 7 years, and his support makes my career as a doula possible. We enjoy watching movies, sushi dates, and exploring Colorado together!

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New York University and a Master of Science Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Although these are not educational requirements to fulfill the role of a doula, I believe my formal education allows me to understand and connect with my clients on a deeper level. I take pride in providing education, advocacy, and compassion to my clients. In addition to birth-work, I teach cultural competency to new doulas, emphasizing racial disparities in healthcare and how doulas can decolonize the birth space. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and outside of being a doula, I work as a behavioral health clinician in an emergency room.

I am here to be a part of your team and assist in creating a birthing experience for you that leaves you feeling empowered. Let’s connect!
